Weebly in Pakistan: Shutdown Dates and Your .pk Domain
Yes, Weebly is shutting down in Pakistan: Pakistani Weebly sites were unpublished on 27 September 2026, and account login ends on 26 December 2026. If your domain ends in .pk, moving it is a paper process through PKNIC with signed originals sent by post, so start now rather than in December.
I am based in Karachi, so this one is close to home. Here is what Pakistani business owners need to know, in the order you need to do it.
01 • the dates
When does Weebly shut down in Pakistan?
Weebly login ends 26 December 2026
—
Counted from today on your device. After this date there is no login, so no downloads.
Pakistan is one of the 67 countries named in Weebly's notice. The dates match everywhere else: no new publishing from 29 June 2026, sites unpublished on 27 September 2026, and no login after 26 December 2026. Network Solutions adds that a site cannot be moved to another Weebly account.
If you are in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or anywhere else in Pakistan and your Weebly site disappeared in late September, that is the reason.
02 • your .pk domain
How do I transfer a .pk domain away from Weebly?
Domains ending in .pk are run by PKNIC. Unlike a .com, a .pk change of registrar or account is mostly done on paper. PKNIC's own page sets out the process.
- 01
Prepare the letter
Company: signed, stamped letter on letterhead from the CEO or director. Individual: an affidavit.
- 02
Name both accounts
The letter must name the current and the new PKNIC account IDs.
- 03
Add your CNIC
Attach a copy of the signatory's CNIC.
- 04
Post the originals
Send originals to PKNIC Collection, 435 Tariq Block, Garden Town, Lahore. Scans are not accepted.
- 05
Wait
PKNIC says it takes about 3–4 business days after the documents are verified.
- The domain must not be expired. PKNIC will not transfer an expired domain.
- If the registrant details do not match, PKNIC asks for an explanatory affidavit on Rs. 100 stamp paper.
- For foreign registrars, PKNIC says transfers using an authorisation code may be available at its discretion.
Start with Weebly support
Weebly says country-code domains need its support team's help. Ask them which PKNIC account your domain sits in and what they need from you, then send your letter to PKNIC. Postal steps take time, so do not leave this until December.
03 • taking payments
Can I take online payments on my new site in Pakistan?
Yes, but not with every tool people mention online. Payoneer's guide notes that Stripe is not officially available in Pakistan, and lists local options such as JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank gateways from HBL, Bank Alfalah, MCB and UBL. Square, which owns Weebly, processes payments in only eight countries, and Pakistan is not one of them.
So when you choose a new platform, check payment support first. Many Pakistani small businesses do perfectly well with cash on delivery, bank transfer and WhatsApp orders, plus a fast website that builds trust.
04 • the next site
What should a new Pakistani business website include?
- WhatsApp button on every page; most enquiries start there
- English and Urdu if your customers read both
- City and areas you serve, such as DHA, Gulshan or Clifton in Karachi
- Prices in PKR, or 'from' prices, where you can share them
- Fast loading on mobile data and slower connections
