The Best Roofing Website Builder in 2026: An Honest Comparison
For most roofing companies the best website builder is the one you will actually keep updated: Wix or Squarespace if you want to do it yourself, WordPress if you want full control and can maintain it, a roofing-specific platform if you want templates tied to your CRM, and a custom build if you want a fast site you fully own. This page compares all five honestly, including who each one is wrong for, and gives you a checklist to run before you sign up for anything.
I build custom sites, so I have an obvious interest in the last option. That is exactly why each option below lists who it suits, and why custom is not the right answer for every roofer. Many 'best builder' articles online are written by companies ranking their own product first; where that applies to a source, I say so.

Which website builder is best for a roofing company?
| Option | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Wix | Owners who want to drag and drop and launch this week | Monthly fees forever; moving the design elsewhere later is hard |
| Squarespace | Clean, simple sites with good-looking templates | Fewer roofing-specific features; same rental model |
| WordPress (self-hosted) | Control, lots of service and area pages, a developer on hand | Plugin updates, security and hosting are your job |
| Roofing-specific builders | Roofers who want templates linked to a CRM or marketing package | Check who owns the site and domain if you leave |
| Custom build | A fast site you own outright, built around how you sell | Higher up-front cost; you need someone to make changes, or an editable setup |
Prices change often, so I have not listed them here. Check each platform's current pricing page, and compare the total over three years, not the first month. The roofing website cost guide shows published ranges for each route.

Are Wix and Squarespace good enough for roofers?
For a small roofer, often yes. Both let you build a clean site with a click-to-call button, a contact form, a photo gallery and a few service pages without hiring anyone. If most of your work comes from referrals and you mainly need somewhere to send people, a well-kept DIY site is a sensible start.
Where they work well
- Fast to launch with no technical skills
- Hosting, security and updates handled for you
- Good mobile templates out of the box
- Easy to add new project photos yourself
Where they struggle
- You rent the site; stop paying and it goes offline
- Moving the design to another platform usually means rebuilding
- Dozens of service-area pages get fiddly to manage
- Heavy templates and apps can slow pages down on mobile data
The trap is not the builder, it is the template. A roofing template full of stock photos, sliders and generic 'quality craftsmanship' text looks finished but says nothing about you. Replace every stock photo and every generic line before you launch.
03 • the flexible option
Is WordPress the best choice for a roofing website?
Self-hosted WordPress gives you the most control. You can build as many service and town pages as you like, move host whenever you want, and hire from a huge pool of developers. That is why a lot of established roofing companies use it.
The cost is upkeep. WordPress itself, your theme and every plugin need regular updates, and an out-of-date site is a security risk. If nobody is responsible for that, a WordPress site slowly becomes the slow, broken site you were trying to replace. Before choosing it, decide who will do the updates and what that costs each month.
- Register the domain in your own name, not your developer's
- Get admin login details for the site and the hosting account
- Keep plugins to the ones you really need
- Agree who updates it, how often, and who restores it if it breaks
- Test the speed on a phone after every major change

What about roofing-specific website builders?
Several companies now sell websites made for roofers. Some are part of software you may already use. Jobber, for example, includes a website builder in its Plus plan. JobNimbus offers a marketing service that builds roofing websites alongside SEO and ads. Mighty Sites has a roofing template and has published its own comparison of builders.
The appeal is speed and integration: roofing templates, built-in quote forms, and leads flowing straight into your job management software. The questions to ask are about the exit. If you stop paying for the software or the marketing package, do you keep the website? Is the domain in your name? Can you export your content?
Read builder rankings carefully
Several 'best roofing website builder' articles are published by companies that sell one of the options and rank it first. That does not make them wrong, but read them as marketing. The sources list at the bottom of this page flags which ones are self-published.

When does a custom roofing website make sense?
A custom build makes sense when your website has to work hard: you run ads, you handle storm work in several areas, or you are tired of renting a site you cannot move. Custom means the site is designed around how roofing jobs actually come in, not around a template's sections.
- It suits: roofers with several services or service areas, companies running paid ads, and anyone leaving a monthly website contract.
- It does not suit: a brand-new one-person roofer with no photos or reviews yet. Start simple and come back later.
- Check: that you will own the code and domain, and that you can edit text and photos without calling a developer.

How do I choose the right builder for my roofing business?
- 01
Who will update it?
If the answer is 'me, on a Sunday night', choose something you find easy, even if it is less powerful.
- 02
How many pages do you need?
Five pages suits almost anything. Forty service-area pages needs WordPress, a roofing platform or a custom build.
- 03
What happens when you leave?
Ask every provider what you keep. If the answer is 'nothing', price that in.
- 04
How fast is it on a phone?
Test a live example on your own phone using mobile data, not office Wi-Fi.
- 05
What will it cost over three years?
Add up set-up, monthly fees, apps and help. Compare totals, not first-month offers.
Whichever you pick, the content matters more than the tool. Use the roofing website must-haves checklist to make sure the essentials are there.

questions
Frequently asked questions
01. What is the best website builder for roofers?
+
There is no single best one. Wix or Squarespace suit owners who want to do it themselves, WordPress suits roofers who need many pages and have someone to maintain it, roofing platforms suit those wanting CRM links, and custom suits roofers who want a fast site they own.
02. Is Wix good for a roofing company?
+
It can be, especially for a small roofer who wants to launch quickly. The trade-offs are ongoing fees and the difficulty of moving the site elsewhere later.
03. Do roofing-specific builders own my website?
+
It depends on the contract. Ask in writing whether you keep the site, the content and the domain if you cancel.
04. Is WordPress safe for a roofing website?
+
Yes, if it is kept updated. An unmaintained WordPress site with old plugins is a security risk, so agree who handles updates.
05. Can I switch builders later?
+
Usually, but the design rarely moves with you. Keep your own copy of your text and photos so a rebuild is quicker.
