When is Weebly shutting down in Malaysia?

Weebly login ends 26 December 2026

—

Counted from today on your device. After this date there is no login, so no downloads.

Malaysia is the third country on Weebly's list. If you run a business in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru or Kota Kinabalu on Weebly, your public site has been offline since 27 September 2026. Publishing had already stopped on 29 June. Your login lasts until 26 December 2026.

Neighbouring Singapore is on the list too, so if you serve customers on both sides of the Causeway, both sites are affected.

Weebly has not given any Malaysia-specific reason. Its notice simply says it is winding down in these countries due to changes in regulation and to simplify its global operations. What matters for you is the same as everywhere: save your content and move your domain before your login ends.

02 • your .my domain

How do I transfer a .my domain from Weebly?

Malaysia's country-code domains, such as .my and .com.my, are managed by MYNIC. Many Malaysian businesses use .com.my. Like other country endings, they follow local rules rather than the usual steps for a .com.

  1. 1Find your exact domain ending in Weebly under Websites > Domains.
  2. 2Choose a registrar that handles .my domains and set up an account in your own name.
  3. 3Contact Weebly support and ask for help transferring your .my domain before login ends.
  4. 4Do not edit the registrant contact details before the transfer. Weebly warns that this triggers a 60-day lock.
  5. 5Once the transfer is done, turn Whois privacy back on and point the domain to your new site.

Also own a .com?

A .com can be moved with the standard unlock and EPP code steps. See the domain transfer guide.

How do I save a bilingual Weebly site?

Many Malaysian sites run in Bahasa Malaysia and English, and some add Chinese or Tamil. Save each language as plain text in its own document. That makes it easy to set up proper language versions on the new site instead of mixing them on one page.

Malaysia save list
  • A ZIP archive of each site
  • Account data from Account Settings > My Data
  • Page text for every language you used
  • Your SSM registration details as shown on the site
  • Prices in RM and your product list, if you sold online

The full method is in how to download your Weebly website.

What should a new Malaysian business website include?

  • A language switch, so visitors choose Bahasa Malaysia or English easily.
  • WhatsApp and phone buttons that work with one tap.
  • A clear privacy note on forms. Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 covers how businesses handle personal data.
  • Your town and service area named on the page, for local searches.
