Weebly Email After Shutdown: How to Keep Your Address

If your business email runs on Google Workspace bought through Weebly, contact Weebly support and ask them to move it directly to Google; your address stays the same as long as you also keep the domain. Do it before 26 December 2026, together with your domain transfer, so your inbox does not stop working when Weebly login ends.

01 • first, check

What kind of email do I have with Weebly?

Your email address has two parts. The part after the @ is your domain, for example yourbusiness.com. The mailbox is the service that stores and sends your messages. To keep your email, you need to keep both.

Your situationWhat to do
Google Workspace bought through WeeblyAsk Weebly support to move it directly to Google
Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 bought directlyNothing to move. Just keep your domain and its email settings
Email with another provider, connected to your Weebly domainKeep the domain. Copy its email settings before the transfer
You only use Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo addressesYour email is not affected by the shutdown

Not sure which you have? Look at your billing. If you pay Weebly or Square for email, it is through Weebly. If you pay Google or Microsoft directly, it is not.

02 • google workspace

How do I move Google Workspace from Weebly to Google?

Weebly's guidance is simple: contact Weebly support and ask them to move your Google Workspace directly to Google. You do not need to cancel it and start again.

  1. 1Contact Weebly support. Say you are in an affected country and want your Google Workspace moved directly to Google before the shutdown.
  2. 2Give them the domain and the admin email address on the account.
  3. 3Make sure you can log in to the Google Admin console as an administrator. If you cannot, say so.
  4. 4Once it is with Google, add a payment method in the Admin console so billing continues there.
  5. 5Send a test email to and from your address to check it still works.

Do email and domain together

Your email needs your domain. If the domain transfer stalls, your email can stall with it. Start both jobs this week, not one after the other.

03 • the settings that matter

Will moving my domain break my email?

It can, if the email settings do not come with it. Email depends on DNS records. DNS is the address book that tells the internet where to deliver your mail. The records that matter most are called MX records.

  1. 1Before the transfer, open your domain settings in Weebly and screenshot every DNS record you can see.
  2. 2After the transfer, check the new registrar shows the same email records.
  3. 3If anything is missing, add it back using your screenshots.
  4. 4Send a test email from a different account, such as personal Gmail, and check it arrives.

04 • your old messages

How do I save my old emails?

If your email is moving to Google, your messages move with it. If you are changing provider, save a copy first. Google offers an export tool for Workspace data, and most email programs can export a mailbox to a file.

Also save your contact list. Customers, suppliers and your accountant are all in there, and they are hard to rebuild from memory.

05 • avoid these

What mistakes break business email during a move?

Most email problems during a move come from doing things in the wrong order, not from anything technical. These are the ones to watch for.

  • Cancelling the Weebly plan before the email has moved. Ask support first, then cancel.
  • Letting the domain lapse. If the domain expires, the email address stops working with it.
  • Changing DNS records without a copy of the old ones. Always screenshot first.
  • Forgetting where the bills go. Make sure renewal notices for the domain and email reach an inbox you check.
  • Moving in the last week of December. Support teams get busy near deadlines, so start now.

If something does go wrong, the fix is usually putting the old email records back. That is why the screenshots matter so much.

06 • after your inbox is safe

What should I do once my email is safe?

With your domain and email secure, the last piece is the website itself. A domain with working email but no website still looks closed to new customers.

questions

Frequently asked questions

01. Will my Weebly email stop working on 26 December 2026?

+

It might, if it depends on Weebly. Google Workspace bought through Weebly should be moved to Google through Weebly support before login ends.

02. Can I keep the same email address after Weebly?

+

Yes, if you keep the domain. Your address is tied to your domain, not to Weebly.

03. Who do I contact to move Google Workspace from Weebly?

+

Weebly support. Weebly's notice says to contact support to move Google Workspace directly to Google.

04. Do I lose my emails when I move to Google?

+

When Workspace moves directly to Google, your mailboxes stay in Workspace. Still, export a backup first in case something goes wrong.

05. My email is with Microsoft 365. Do I need to do anything?

+

Only protect your domain and its DNS records. If they move correctly, Microsoft 365 keeps working.
