Weebly in Abu Dhabi: Shutdown Dates and Your Next Steps
Weebly no longer runs websites in the UAE, so Abu Dhabi businesses on Weebly have been offline since 27 September 2026, and account login ends on 26 December 2026. Use the time left to export your content and get your .ae domain released through Weebly support, especially if you sell online under an Abu Dhabi Tajer licence.
This is the Abu Dhabi page. For the rules that apply across all seven emirates, read the UAE guide first.

When did Weebly stop working in Abu Dhabi?
Weebly login ends 26 December 2026
—
Counted from today on your device. After this date there is no login, so no downloads.
Abu Dhabi follows the same UAE timeline as Dubai and the northern emirates. Publishing stopped on 29 June 2026. Sites were unpublished on 27 September 2026. Login ends on 26 December 2026. Weebly gave the reason as changes in regulation and simplifying its global operations, and has not said anything specific to Abu Dhabi.
People in Abu Dhabi often search 'weebly abu dhabi' because their own site has vanished and they want to know if it is just them. It is not. Every Weebly site run from the UAE is affected, free or paid.
02 • selling online from abu dhabi
I sell online with a Tajer licence. What should I do?
Abu Dhabi's Department of Economic Development (ADDED) launched the Tajer Abu Dhabi licence in 2017 so businesses could trade through websites and social media. The licence is issued through TAMM, Abu Dhabi's government services platform. Holders get a period to operate without physical premises, and in September 2026 ADDED extended that period by a year for holders whose period ends during 2026.
If your Tajer business used Weebly as its website, the shutdown removed your main sales channel. Your licence is not affected by the website going offline, but your customers cannot find you there.
- 1Save your product list, prices and photos from Weebly before 26 December 2026.
- 2Point customers to the social media channels your licence already covers while the new site is built.
- 3Check your licence details on TAMM so your new website shows the right trade name.
- 4Rebuild the shop on a platform that accepts payments in the UAE. Square Online does not, because Square does not process payments there.
03 • your domain
How do Abu Dhabi businesses move a .ae domain off Weebly?
The rules are the same as anywhere in the UAE. Domains ending in .ae are run by .aeDA under the TDRA. Under the .aeDA's transfer policy, a registrar transfer uses the domain password, and no fee can be charged to you for the transfer itself. Weebly says country-code domains need its support team, so request the password from Weebly support rather than looking for an EPP code in the dashboard.
- 01
Choose a .ae registrar
Open an account in your own or your company's name.
- 02
Ask Weebly support
Request help and the domain password before 26 December 2026.
- 03
Start the transfer
Give the password to your new registrar.
- 04
Restore email
Re-add your mail records so your inbox keeps working.
Leave the registrant details as they are until the move is done. Weebly warns that changing contact details first can lock the domain for 60 days.
04 • abu dhabi customers
What do Abu Dhabi customers expect from a business website?
Abu Dhabi is spread out, from the island to Khalifa City, Mussafah, Yas and Al Ain. Customers want to know quickly whether you serve their area and how to reach you. The new site should answer both questions on the first screen.
- Areas you serve, named on the page (island, mainland districts, Al Ain)
- One-tap WhatsApp and phone buttons
- Arabic and English if your customers use both
- Your trade name exactly as it appears on your licence
- A simple enquiry form that works on a phone
