Weebly Shutting Down in Saudi Arabia: Your Next Steps

01 • the saudi dates

When is Weebly closing in Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia was named in the 5 July 2026 Khaleej Times report alongside the UAE, Bahrain and Oman. For businesses in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam or anywhere in the Kingdom, three things have already happened: publishing stopped on 29 June, and your public site was unpublished on 27 September. One date is left. Login ends on 26 December 2026.

Weebly gave the reason as changes in regulation and simplifying its global operations. It has not said anything specific to Saudi Arabia beyond including it on the list.

02 • your .sa domain

How do I move a .sa domain away from Weebly?

The .sa ending is Saudi Arabia's country-code domain, managed by SaudiNIC. You may have a second-level version such as .com.sa. Saudi Arabia also has an Arabic-script country ending. Whichever you have, its rules are set locally, not by Weebly.

Weebly's notice says country-code domains need its support team's help. In practice, start that conversation first and do the rest of your checklist while you wait for a reply.

1. 1Write down your full domain exactly, including any second-level part like .com.sa.
2. 2Pick the registrar you want to move to and confirm it supports your ending.
3. 3Open a ticket with Weebly support asking for help to transfer the .sa domain before 26 December 2026.
4. 4Leave the registrant details unchanged until the move is done, to avoid a 60-day lock.
5. 5If you also have a .com, follow the standard transfer steps for it.

03 • arabic content

How do I save an Arabic Weebly website?

If your Weebly site had Arabic pages, save the Arabic text as text, not just in the ZIP or in screenshots. Copy it into a document that keeps the Arabic characters. Retyping a whole site in Arabic later is slow and easy to get wrong.

The full steps are in how to download your Weebly website.

04 • your new site

What should a new Saudi business website get right?

• Arabic pages built right to left from the start, not flipped as an afterthought.
• An English version if you serve expatriate or business customers.
• A quick way to call or WhatsApp you from a phone.
• Your city and districts named in the text, so people searching nearby can find you.

Builders like Wix and Squarespace can handle Arabic, but check how well they lay it out before you commit. Our honest guide to alternatives can help you decide.
